I've have been thinking about my future alot lately..

As I was watching a documentary about those who live for their art one of the artists said "What's the point? We are all just going to be dust one day." This really affected me and got me thinking about my future.. I mean I dread every second of every day that i am in school and why? So that I can have a future? Yes... But I will have a future whether I go to school or not.. Its more about having a successful future and a high paying job that requires schooling. To be honest I do not like what our country has come to. We rely on paper to get by each day.. And that's just as stupid as it sounds. We need money to survive in this country because that is the way our society was created.. When you think back to cavemen and Indians; at that point things were simple and our country and society had so many different possibilities to evolve into.. I just don't approve of the direction our country has taken.. Everything is too complex and it makes it difficult to make it in this world. I hope one day people will begin to understand where I'm coming from and share the same feelings, but until then I will accept each day as it comes and dream about a revolution that could be the beginning to a better life for many many people. Please feel free to share your thoughts with comments. I would love to hear them.

Back to School Essentials.

Sorry! D: I know it has been a WHILE since my last post, but i recently started school and it has been very hectic.

Anyways, I would love to share with you my top picks for back to school Must-Haves.

Number One: A Bodysuit. These can be a bit scary, but paired with a flowy skirt, high waisted shorts, or jeans, they can become your go-to fashion item when you're in a rut over what to wear on those rushed mornings when you press snooze one too many times.

Number Two: A great pair of versatile Oxfords. These are the most amazing shoes. They have the ability to take a simple T-shirt and jeans to a unique and very trendy outfit.

Number Three: A Messenger Bag. These can add a relaxed, indie feel to your outfit while it carries all of your school necessities.

Number Four: TOMS. Any pair of TOMS shoes are a MUST-HAVE. I am in love with all of them and their new fall styles are just incredible. While you are getting a wonderful pair of stylish shoes, you're also giving a pair to a child in need.

Number Five: Go-to Dress that you can throw on with a pair of great shoes or sandals and you're out the door.

I hope these ideas will help and give you some inspiration as you school shop or get dressed each morning. Have a wonderful and trendy year.

Quote Of The Day...

“Change is the essence of life.Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become.”

Why did I choose this quote you may ask?

These words happen to be relevant to something I am going through in my life. I recently moved and at first i decided to continue my schooling where i grew up along with the many friends I have been with since kindergarten. However, thinking logically and about my future, I've decided to just go to this new school which just seems like one big, scary, lonely place but it will help me in the long run considering it's a much better school. Keeping these words in my head have put my mind at ease and remind me that although I'm losing a lot, it will help me in following my dreams and conquering my goals. I hope these words can help you in any struggles of change that may be happening in your life. Have a wonderful day, and always remember to Be Your True Self.<3
Love always,
Melissa

Blazers

Blazers are something many can be skeptical about. I myself had my doubts. When you try one on for the first time you may think "Hmm... Does this make me look too much like I'm about to spend a day in the office?" I know i felt that way.. But then i realized that when you pair them with fun flowy things or even jeans you can pull off this very fashion forward look. In the photo above I have paired mine with a plaid dress and leggings. Of course this is just one of the MANY ways to wear a blazer. So keep an open mind and don't be afraid to take a risk in what you choose to wear today.
Thank you,
-Melissa
